“Unanimous”

Today, Stephen Curry was named the league’s first-ever unanimous MVP. And in a season filled with ridiculous highlights, buzzer-beaters & 73 wins, Steph (somehow, someway) outdid himself once again.

Coming off the bench, on a bum knee, facing a “never-say-die” Portland squad hell-bent on tying the series at two apiece, Steph shook off early rust to score 27 of his 40 points in the 4th quarter and OT.

And 17 of those points? IN THE OVERTIME PERIOD ALONE.

A new NBA record.

Honestly, I’m running out of things to say about the back-to-back MVP. When hyperbole manifests into reality, it’s kinda hard to fathom anything less than superhuman as acceptable.

As crazy as Steph’s game was last night (one of the best playoff moments in recent history considering the stakes and his uncertain status prior to tip-off), it’s completely fine to believe he can do something similar again….and again.

That, combined with consistently great leadership & focus every night, has turned Steph from star to superstar to MVP to Unanimous MVP: A DIFFERENT BREED of success.

And the crazy thing is, that’s not an exaggerated claim. This isn’t an ode or “fluff piece”…it’s reality.

Steph is treading uncharted territory these days and shattering records in the process.
