Wayne Ellington (MIA) – “Making it Wayne”

Profile:
Shooting Guard/Small Forward: 6’4, 200 lbs; 9th year, UNC
NBA Role: shooter • UnderDOG
Anytime you need a corner (or elbow) 3, you better call Wayne Ellington – a shooter by nature who lives to air it out from long range; since his title-winnin’ days at North Carolina, you can count on him to hit open shots & defend at the two spot; Ellington “makes it Wayne” and stays in his lane by not overcompensating in other aspects of the game; a role player you need to scout for, Ellington’s a respectable creator off the dribble – does a nice job of getting separation before rising up for clean looks, isn’t afraid to drive down the lane and finish; solid defender, especially for a reserve; all in all, at the end of the day, if we’re being completely honest, Wayne’s a very solid role player for any decent team – plug him into any 3-point challenged lineup and he’ll make an immediate difference*
*MIA needs all the floor spacers it can get to complement Hassan Whiteside
