Tiago Splitter (PHI) – “Splits”

Profile:
Center: 6’11, 245 lbs; 8th year, Brazil
NBA Role: two-way center • UnderDOG
Drafted in the late first-round by San Antonio, way back in 2007, Tiago Splitter is another ‘draft & stash’ prospect who’s had a pretty productive NBA career; a Brazilian pivot w/ championship pedigree (won a title w/ the Spurs back in 2014), Splits knows how to win ball games; plays both ends of the court – isn’t a big-time scorer or rebounder but he’ll religiously contribute a few buckets, come down w/ a few boards, block/alter a few shots & create a few extra possessions; not new to the game but could improve his range out to 3-point land*; able to make the extra pass: important for Coach Brett Brown, who’s already well-accustomed to his game**; in PHI’s long-term plans?
*everyone’s doing it these days
**(assistant) coached Splitter for a few years in SA
