Sheldon McClellan (WAS) – “Sheldon Macc”

Profile:
Shooting Guard/Small Forward: 6’6, 200 lbs; 2nd year, Miami
NBA Role: (raw) two-way wing • UnderDOG
Sheldon McClellan, a four-year player outta THE U (by way of H-Town), is a player to watch in Washington – for an undrafted rook, McClellan looks like he belongs, should’ve heard his name called on draft night; a 6’6 wing w/ some shake, the knock on Sheldon was his lack of utter dominance in college (avg. 16.3 ppg as a senior)…*sigh* when will GMs learn that a lot of high-quality college seniors (which McClellan was • Second-Team All-ACC his final yr.) are seasoned, have a greater chance at easing into (and accepting) a role* at the next level; very aggressive on offense – pretty good athlete, finishes well around the basket (especially w/ his left); spots up well from beyond the arc, fills the break in transition; nice defensive makeup, would benefit from an additional 15 lbs of muscle
*just a theory but seems guys like McClellan & Malcolm Brogdon (MIL • 36th overall) slip (or fall out entirely) every year
Signature Shot: TBD.
