Rodney Hood (UTA) – “Misterrr Hood”

Profile:
Shooting Guard/Small Forward: 6’8, 206 lbs; 4th year, Duke
NBA Role: versatile, scoring swingman • Star UnderDOG
A smooth scoring wing outta Duke, Rodney Hood is the league’s best (or worst?) kept secret; not just a scorer: talented playmaker – Hood can distribute, rebound and defend his position; quiet demeanor but cutthroat on the floor (don’t tick Hood off) – his rage is channeled into poisonous, southpaw daggers (cooks people w/ pull-up threes after a screen); high, lefty release is a headache to contest – Hood gets clear shots (after posting) by protecting the rock & cashing turnarounds before the D can react; starting to assume the role of PnR initiator more and more – slips into the lane very well for a 6’8 wing; good defender – long wingspan, quick, willing to work; needs to rebound a bit better considering his height – loses boards playing in the backcourt; is Hood the next slept-on-in the draft wing star?*
*Hood’s another one of those pissed-off wing guys who fell on draft night (i.e. Paul George (IND) – 10th overall, Jimmy Butler (CHI) – 30th overall, Khris Middleton (MIL) – 39th overall) • Hood was 23rd overall in 2014 – he’s hell-bent on proving he belongs near the top, has similar tools to follow in their footsteps
