Ricky Rubio (MIN) – “Pretty Tricky Ricky”

Profile:
Point Guard: 6’4, 192 lbs; 6th year, Spain
NBA Role: creative, two-way playmaker • Star UnderDOG
Ricky Rubio was born to assist – he can roll out of the bed and throw at least 20-25 (naturally gifted) ‘basketball plays’ every single night* – with all of the young weapons in Minny, it’s time for Rubio to break into All-Star territory; snazzy, Spanish floor general w/ exceptional court vision (eyes in the back of his head) – perfect guard to lead the break throwing to Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine & Karl-Anthony Towns – does a great job of reading plays before they actually happen; to become elite, Rubio needs a more respectable J – his 3 is okay but Rubio still doesn’t have a reliable in-between/float game to fall back on – without a blinding first step, he needs to keep working on his scoop shot, draw more fouls & grow into a post-up, playmaking role; quiet leader, becoming a more vocal presence in Minny; good defender who consistently ranks in the top percentile in terms of efficiency; Coach Thibs’ stabilizer – Rubio’s stock is back up
*whether (or not) he had the teammates to finish off plays was a question in previous years – now, not so much
Signature Shot: ‘push’ jumper
(*factory setting*) NBA 2K17 Rating: 77
