Patrick McCaw (GSW) – “P-Mac”

Profile:
Guard: 6’7, 185 lbs; Rookie, UNLV
NBA Role: versatile combo guard • GSW Depth Chart: Rotation
Patrick McCaw slipped to Steve Kerr & the Dubs in Round 2 of 2016 – and it’s a shame for the rest of the league; a multi-faceted swingman w/ breakdown ability, McCaw starred at UNLV, putting up decent numbers playing the 1, 2 & 3 – in college, you could plug him anywhere and produce; prototypical size at the two, with the ball-handling and defensive intensity to alternate between the 1-3 – GSW is high on McCaw’s potential to adapt* right into Kerr’s positionless sets, featuring time w/ the 4 All-Stars; long-range jumper is better than advertised, though far from a knockdown shooter; working on defensive discipline & adding strength are a couple of McCaw’s short-term goals – Coach Kerr’s easing him into the rotation, making him earn PT through consistent, two-way effort
*An underrated part of McCaw’s game is how he’s able to adapt and improve – with added responsibility this past season at UNLV, McCaw upped his rebound & assist rates, while shooting better from the field
