Marvin Williams

Marvin Williams (CHA) – “Marv” nike

(Streeter Lecka/USA TODAY Sports)

CHA 2 Forward: 6’9, 237 lbs; 13th year, UNC

NBA Role: versatile forward • Hybrid

UNC’s Marvin Williams: a jump shooting, hybrid SF/PF who provides plenty of points & boards in Charlotte’s small ball lineup – usually good for at least 11 & 6 every night; Marv LOVES the corner three – career 38% from beyond the corner lines (awkwardly worded but def. a real stat); decent defender, though he struggles to contain larger opponents when serving time at the four spot; doesn’t put the ball down as often as he used to but has earned ‘corner driver’ status by aggressively attacking closeouts – helps that Marv’s float game is above average too; perfect example of someone whose career shouldn’t be judged in the first few years – in year 13, Marv’s one of the league’s most prized puzzle pieces

Signature Shot: straightaway 3 (off the hop)
