Profile:

LALPower Forward: 6’9, 250 lbs; 3rd year, Kentucky

NBA Role: new wave power forward

A raw cannonball with crazy power and explosiveness – Randle’s a new wave four man* prepared to lock down LA’s starting PF spot for years; unorthodox style – a legit breakdown guy at 6’9, 250 – Randle uses his quickness to get by his man and if that doesn’t work, he’ll pull out a couple in & out hezzies (with his off hand) before getting back to his more favorable left hand; with great power, comes great responsibility: Randle must learn to channel his energy into productive plays instead of wasted possessions; needs to work on his unreliable outside game – working to correct his form, currently shoots a bit too slow & deliberate; the highest upside of LA’s young core? – Randle’s one of the league’s most intriguing young bigs – when the Lakers need to stop the bleeding or get a late-game bucket, is J. Randle a go-to guy?

*if Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) is an ideal, new wave center, Randle is a ‘remixed’ four man: crazy power & athleticism of a guy like Larry Johnson combined w/ ball-handling & elite rebounding
