NBA Role: ‘rock up, shoot’ swingman • Hybrid

Joe Cool(er than the other side of the pillow) is still a clutch iso scorer – put your best defender on JJ, he’ll somehow find a way to a clean look; providing an offensive punch in Salt Lake City: a ‘by myself’ scorer by trade, Johnson has a ton of help in Utah (he’s now apart of a second unit collective ft. Alec Burks, Dante Exum, & Boris Diaw); Quin Snyder’s bench could be special if JJ takes charge and buys in*; great fit next to Utah’s young, tall wing corps; born to get buckets – when JJ has his mind on scoring, not much else matters – can destroy you in the post, from distance, over defenders and when on an island (ISO JOE‘s reign is still going strong); lessened responsibility has made JJ a deadlier spot shooter and scorer

^similar to Joe, Jamison was a high-volume shot-maker who settled into a ‘collective’ bench group in DAL back in ’04 – now, Joe’s clearly a reserve due to his advanced age but his featured role on a ‘by committee’ bench is impressive
