‘Midrange’ Jason Smith is a 7-footer who prefers taking jumpers rather than banging inside – but in this case it’s cool…shooting Js is Jason’s thing; Smith’s game was one of a faceup scorer prior to his ACL injury in 2008 – despite the injury, Smith bounced back & reinvented himself into a pick and pop shooter from inside the arc; will almost always knock down an open elbow jumper (sets solid screens, slips to his ideal spots on the floor); starting to extend his shot to downtown – has the high-release that’s perfect for rollout threes; doesn’t make a strong impact defensively or on the boards; one of the better ’15-minute’ bigs in the Association – Smith doesn’t get huge minutes, contributes wherever necessary for Scott Brooks
