Jahlil Okafor (PHI) – “Jah”

Profile:
Center: 6’11, 275 lbs; 3rd year, Duke
NBA Role: offensive-minded, new wave center • UnderDOG
Jahlil Okafor’s an advanced post player for his age (20) – it’s like if Al Jefferson (IND) could cross you at the FT line/take you off the dribble whenever he feels like it; enormous mitts – Jah can score on either block and is slick with push floaters, drop steps and hook shots in the lane – combined w/ great footwork; always a threat with a live ball, can rise up/step back for Js, take you down on the box despite an official post feed, or break out the spin cycle*; despite his offensive prowess, Okafor has a couple drawbacks, most notably his inability to protect the basket (doesn’t move very well on D) and poor shot selection (falls into player lock mode a little too often); Okafor’s a decent passer outta the post but by no means a set-up man; (still a) potential franchise center? – 17 & 7 as a rook is nice but Jah might benefit from a new squad
*damn, Dedmon
