Ben Simmons (PHI) – “BS”

Profile:
Forward: 6’10, 250 lbs; Rookie, LSU
NBA Role: versatile playmaker • Future Top DOG
The #1 overall pick in 2016, LSU’s Ben Simmons is a potential franchise savior in Philly; in a city desperately searching for another superstar, Simmons is wired w/ an uncommon combination of physical tools and a natural feel for the game seen in very few young prospects; excellent passer & playmaker at 6’10 – Simmons uses his size and (methodical) quickness to burst down the floor but relies upon his basketball instincts to carefully place perfect passes – pinpoint ‘pitch-aheads’ (on the run) are his specialty; will Simmons make his teammates better simply by existing? (aka the “LeBron James effect”); doesn’t trust his outside shot yet – teams will sit on Simmons til the lefty hitch is gone and he proves capable of knocking em down consistently; can BS, along w/ Joel Embiid, lead the Sixers back to respectability? – Philly has a strange, yet very intriguing roster; missed 2016-17 season (foot)
