Amir Johnson (BOS) – “Doctor of Denial”

Profile:
Power Forward: 6’9, 240 lbs; 13th year, Westchester HS (CA)
NBA Role: defensive-minded power forward
An awesome teammate & defender, fans and coaches naturally gravitate towards Amir Johnson; impactful ‘energy guy’ – goes hard at all times, yet stays within the flow of the game while making ghost contributions that don’t end up in box scores; won’t complain about shots or minutes (throwback player in that aspect); biggest mark comes as a stopper – hedges out well when defending the PnR, keeps hands straight up when contesting interior shots; only a decent rebounder, not a natural boarding tandem w/ Al Horford; has started to add some range to his quick set shot (not a 3pt. shooter by any means yet tho); solid float game as a roll man; normally ends up outperforming his contract – one of the league’s top ‘glue guys’ – Los Angeles native has enjoyed a long NBA career as a role-playing power forward up front (studied under the likes of Rasheed & Ben Wallace whilst a teenager in Detroit)
