Since losing Dwyane Wade earlier this month, the HEAT have made a serious of short-term moves to offset his production. According to reports, Dion Waiters is set to join Miami on a 1 year/$2.9 million deal.
That’s crazy value for Waiters, who had difficultly securing a deal despite a productive postseason with OKC.
Likened to Wade coming out of school, it’s a bit ironic Waiters is now his “replacement” down in South Beach. He’ll fight for the starting nod but the likely scenario sees Waiters playing 25-30 minutes as a Sixth Man in Erik Spoelstra’s lineup.
Now, we can’t really gauge Miami’s upcoming season with Chris Bosh‘s status still in limbo. But one thing’s for sure, they’ll be very entertaining.
Waiters & Hassan Whiteside are worth the price of admission alone.
