Trade season is among us, as another big move went down just hours ago…
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Atlanta Hawks have dealt (former) All-Star guard Jeff Teague to the Indiana Pacers. In the deal, George Hill goes to Utah, while Utah’s #12 overall pick (2016) goes to ATL.
Atlanta gets: #12 overall
Indiana gets: G Jeff Teague
Utah gets: G George Hill
It’s a nice move all-around – there doesn’t seem to be a “loser” among the group. Indiana puts another All-Star caliber talent next to Paul George and Myles Turner. And Teague, who grew up in Indianapolis, could sign long-term and build upon his already solid NBA career at home.
Atlanta might be on the verge of blowing it up, as Al Horford & Kent Bazemore are free agents and Paul Millsap (31) & Kyle Korver (35) are getting up there in age. Dealing Teague might be the first of many deals this offseason.
And lastly, the Utah Jazz might have locked up the 7 seed in 2016-17! Acquiring (the always savvy) George Hill gives them a shot to compete with a stable veteran at lead guard, which will do wonders for their young core in terms of competitiveness & readiness each night.
The NBA Draft is less than 24 hours away. BRING ON MORE TRADES.
