According to reports, Paul George will be announced as the cover athlete for NBA 2K17 during Game of 1 of the NBA Finals.
This past season, Indiana‘s superstar swingman fully rebounded (23.1 ppg, 7 rpg; 3rd Team All-NBA) from his gruesome leg injury (two summers ago), regained his Top DOG status and propelled the Pacers back to the playoffs.
PG-13 is a great choice for a couple of reasons: he is an active 2K user and is one of the more exciting players to control on the game. George is usually in the 88-92 range in terms of overall ranking, with the speed, 3-point shooting and dunking ability to go insane in a simulation format.
He joins the likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant & Stephen Curry as recent cover athletes. And while George will be featured on the main cover, fans can purchase a special, “legend edition” featuring recently retired star, Kobe Bryant.
The game does not yet have a release date but using the past as an example, expect it to drop the first week of October.
